“把榫卯从传统的技术层面脱离出来，由结构功能、使用功能转化为艺术功能、视觉功能、精神功能。榫卯是几千年传承下来的文化符号，是很好的文化资源，我的作品就是把文化资源转化成艺术的一种表现方式。”由于此作品中使用了很多木头的边角料以及弃木，在资源的再利用与环保方面，也有一定的意义。

     ‘The work extracts the Mortise and Tenon from a traditional technical dimension, developing its function from use and structure to art, visual communication and spirit. The Mortise and Tenon is a cultural symbol that is thousands of years old; a representative cultural resource. My work is about transforming its cultural value to that of art.’ There are a number of residual wood materials used in the work which enables this project to speak out for resource efficiency and environmental awareness.
